Moss Elf
Gwillmoss is a very young baby elf, and has just learned to sit, she is an elf from the moss clan and has enormous moss green eyes. A lot of people find these elves comical to look at , they seem to stare in wide eyed wonder at everything and Gwillmoss is no different. Hardly surprising though as moss elves spend most of their lives inside dark mossy tree stumps.
Gwillmoss has a new mummy now.

The vegetable gang
what a healthy lot! well elves need to see in the dark, how else would they make so much mischief while you're asleep?

Elf spotting.
I have been busy making an elf spotting guide, it is not by any means complete and if anyone has any elf information I could add to it I would be pleased to hear from you. I want to build up a large base of any interesting information on elves.

Miniature Elf babies.
I have a few miniature elf babies that are on ebay at the moment , you can see them here http://search.ebay.co.uk/_W0QQsassZpixie_patch
they seem to be quite popular, well they have had a lot of viewings anyway more than my previous open eyed elves that cost me a lot more to make, both in the cost of the acrylic eyes and the amount of clay (polymer clay is expensive I find compared to other mediums).
I think I probably put in the same amount of time sculpting them though as the tiny faces are fiddley to do and it's very hard to sculpt one part without squashing another but then I'm new to this elf making and am learning new techniques all of the time.

Tattooed Kewpie.
Another thing I do is collect vinyl 1970's kewpies. I had one as a kid and decided to collect them when I saw some for sale on ebay. I decided to decorate some one of them, one I decided to give some tattoos, its a bit of a work in progress because I'm going to cover it from the neck to ankle , but having a hard time getting the time and ideas for designs. I'm going to do another one as a gothic horror kewpie, again I'm thinking of ideas for that. Some would say it's sacrilage to deface these 1970's vintage kewpies but to be honest I'm not sure why they sell for so much, I regularly shell out 10-12 quid for them but they are not rare, any day of the week you can lay your hands on at least 3 of them, they were absolutely mass produced in the 70's in china and hong kong. I want my collection to be a bit different so I'm gradually going to turn a lot of them into art dolls. One or two I will keep as they are because they are good ones , but a lot are bog standard.
New Eyes.
Wow, I got loads of great new eyes today. I am really pleased with the quality, they really do look so lifelike! I got some light and dark blue, dark brown and green. These ones are made from acrylic, they look as good as the glass ones in my opinion , but are much stronger, I'd worry about breaking glassones while I was sculpting. Also they need to be able to withstand being baked with the clay.
I can't wait to make some more dolls now! They will look great with these eyes. I also got a few lbs of clay today, it was lucky really, I've been in all day because my car is in for it's MOT.
I also got a delivery of cardboard boxes, I got some really strong ones because last week one of my dolls was broken in the post and I was really disappointed.
Well, that's it for now, I've included some pis of my new eyes!

Some more baby elves.
Pixie patch's clay world.
Hi, I'm Danielle an artist and I Live in Kent, England.
I love everything to do with elves and I sculpt polymer clay Ooak baby Elves and mythological creatures. I also enjoy drawing, doll making and painting.
I am improving and learning new techniques all of the time, I also like to use other mediums such as papier mache and fabric.

These type of polymer clay sculpts are generally known as Ooaks (one of a kind). My elves are made using no moulds at any stage of their creation and no moulds are ever taken from them, so they remain totally unique. I make each one with a lot of love and care and each one has, in my mind it's own little personality, they seem to sculpt their own little expressions. Luckily I also do a lot of gardening so have seen a fair few garden elves hiding around the place to give me inspiration. I love all faeries, elves, imps, sprites, goblins, pixies etc so bringing these little creatures to life is something I really love. I mainly only sculpt at weekends when I have the most time and sometimes in the evening, but I have the most inspiration waking up knowing I have a weekend ahead of me! Sometimes I might sculpt one or two a day other times I don't manage to make one for a week or more. There's usually something new to see on my Ebay page. I list most of my items on Ebay but they are also availiable elsewhere but still each is unique.
